Today we coninued to produce skills with this new software called Cubase, i learnt a few new techniques and have managed to produce an introduction to the start of my peice which is based around the genre or Drum and Base, i have found this to be fun however i am finding quite a few problems that i have had to solve, though im staying posative and i will continue to build on this peice when i return to college after the christmans holidays.

Today we started a new project called Sequencing, we started our research into something called MIDI which is sofwear that allows us to create music for visual or audio purposes, we were told to do a 250 word minimum, research of this new project and list four things that you would find in a media studio and elaborate on them. by the end of the day i had managed to produce two pages of 710 words with images however its still incompleate and needs to be changed in some places. i plan to have this finished on the wednesday back.

Today i continued with my website and i began to produce my next page which is the information page as i had previously completed the menu page, as my site moves forward i feel more confident with my site and am prud of my progress sop far, we have a short time left to compleate the site however im confident i can compleate the sirte before we have to meet the deadline.

Today we started to make our website. We started by developing the first page of our website which is called a splash page, this is simply the first little detail which normally requests age and sometimes registration, but it proves to be an essential peice for the website to look better. My website is on Halo, a favoured video game i grew up with when i was younger. i think this will do well as it has inspried me to work harder and strive to produce an outstanding peice of work.

Today we learnt how to produce a roll over button on a website using dreamweaver, this process was suprisingly easy as i got to grips with it quite quickly. it is a useful technique to know as roll over buttins are used on most of todays modern legitamite websites.

Today we finished doing our research on a website we think is good and on a website we think is bad. we then continued to start on our website design. so far ive only managed to get an image which i will continue to play with in order to get it where i want it. i have also changed the background to black. i plan to continue to develope this and hopefully i will end up with a decent well presented website design.

Today we further continued our research on the history of the internet, so far i have reached 14 total pages which is over hal of the required amount. i plan to have the research finished on the monday we come back to college.

Today i began catching up on work i had missed from previously being ill. i began by talking with my tutor who helped me to get back on track with my work. i started my final bus design with my chosen catagory of green peace. i plan to have this compleated on monday and in the mean time i will finish of my other work over the weekend.

Today we continued with our research. after looking into research based on wiki i began starting to add my own thoughts based from what i knew about it. we had to produce three sheets of research for each sub heading. Visual langauge, Semiotics, Product branding and Advertisement, i managed to compleate this task and i am now moving to add my own thoughts on each individual heading.

Today we recived our new brief on advertisement. we spent the day going through each part of the breif and then began doing research based on the brief criteria.

Today we started our first unit on Advertisememnt. to get us more used to the project billy who was covering todays lesson gave us the task of making our own advertisememnt adding our own tag lines. we went to the libruary and used the resources that it could offer such as the internet and the books. i decided to do mine on sport as i enjoy sport myself. i added clever tag lines that i thought would atrract certain age groups to the sport, which is what the task sheet required.

Today i filled out my evaluation for this project, didnt really do to much today to be honest as i have previously compleated both posters however i have allot of sketch book work which i shall compleate over the next few days before the following monday.

Poster 2 Reveiw

I think this poster has turned out allot better then the previous one. I used masking, cutting and opacity techniques through out this poster design and i am very pleased with the progress made with this particular poster. I would have finished this poster sooner however it didnt seem to save so I had to start over which slightly delayed my progress. The point in which this poster was trying to explain was about drink driving and I asked a few students to tell me what they thought it ment and the result was consistant. As previously stated I am pleased with this poster and it has given me a few ideas for future work.

Poster 1 Review

I think my first poster which was based around the general area of anti war went reasonably well, i think the things that went well were the masking tool and the composition of the poster. i think it puts my point across in the way that i wanted. and through asking other students from my class what they think it was trying to say told me that the poster was giving the right empression. i think it could have been improved by maybe adding some more contrast as regards to opacity and angle. i think i could have added in some more effects to maybe catch the eye abit more but i think over all it was a success and i am pleased with my work. the second poster is in current process and i plan to produce a review for it once it is finished.

Today i began my last poster on photoshop, i decided to take my original idea of drink driving and how much the effect and danger is elevated when on a motorbike, during this process i used the magic wand, magic eraser and the masking tool. by the end of the lesson i had compleated this poster and i was pleased with the results and i think i got my message across in the way that i wanted. we have decided to go with two posters instead of the previously decided three, so i am releifed to find i have a little less to worry about and instead i can spend the time perfecting my two compleated posters.

Today we reviewed the photos that we had previously taken from yesterdays session using the cameras working with different angles. after the review we began working on our first of three posters. i decided to take one of my original ideas of anti war using fighter planes and clever placed images and words to show whoever saw the image what i was trying to say. by the end of the session i had compleated this and i plan to move on to my next poster the following monday when we return to college.

Today we began experimentiung with using cameras in different ways to produce different kinds of images we were split into groups of five and sent around the college campus to try to take interesting pictures. we had limited cameras so we shared one camera between us and took it in turns taking pictures ticking of the sections on a task sheet as we went. i thought this task was good because it allowed me to get a small taste of what came with photography.

Today i have continued to work with photoshop this time trying to express my views through the images i use and the way that i place them on the screen. the three topics i choose were speeding, war and drink driving. i successfuly managed to express my veiws through my images by asking other members of the group to look at my work and tell me what they think the images are trying to explain. the tools that i used to compleate this task were the masking tool, cut and paste, magic wand and the moving tool. im starting to find that the more i use photoshop the easier it becomes to use. i am pleased with my current progress and im looking forward to trying new techniques.

Today we continued with our development of our photoshop skills. we experimented by doing basic skills such as layering, cropping, colour minipulation and composition. after a few hours of playing with it i managed to master the techniques and had developed a decent poster. latter we did a mock up poster using the past techniques with some new ones. i havnt yet finished this one as i ran out of time however i plan to finish it next week on monday.

Today we started to use photoshop for the first time. we were given a set task so that we could understand the basic tools of photoshop which would make it easier for future work. we were given images that we had to cut and layer onto other images. we had to do this a few times over so that we were sure we could do it right. i struggled with the copying part of the task however after a bit of practise i was able to compleate the task. i feel i know abit more on photoshop however i think allot more practise is needed.

Today i continued to develope my Mood boards. as i have run into a problem that i will solve tomorrow. i have decided to take an alternate route and do another subject in the meantime, i decided to do something to do with games and the violence that comes with them including some of the parents views on video games. i managed to compleate this board and have moved on to the pervious idea of motorcycles. i will develope this board in my own time at home as i have all the required resources to develope the board at home.

Today we watched a film on Photomontqage on John heartfield. it was a documentry of his work and how he got his message to the people. i finaly finished my research and i have began to start on my mood boards. i have decided to cut out my first board into the shape of a motorbike as its relevant to the subject that the board will be showing. After cutting out the board i plan to produce a collage and add a little information. tommorow i plan to continue with my mood boards and hopefully start on my next subject. more information and research may be required but at this point is not essential.

Today i have continued to do my research on Photomontage as i plan to produce ten pages of research and three mood boards. During my research i have found an artist named David Hockney who has used the Photomontage technique in some of his work. I plan to look more closely at his work so i can try the technique myself. So far i have achieved six pages of research and i plan to have the rest finished by the end of the week.
