I found todays task not very challenging however i found it to be a better more useful way to research instead of typing pages of information which becomes boring, i thought thats the tasks could be more challenging for future reference however an all round good effort, in actuall fact i think in some ways its much better.

Example – Won’t go Quietly

Example is a british rapper that i personaly find interesting because of his tyle of music and his use of clever lyrics, one of his newest songs called ‘wont go quietly’ in my opinion is one of his best along with the previously released ‘watch the sun come up’. Examples real name is Elliot John Gleave.
Born 20 June 1982 at West London hospital in Hammersmith, Gleave attended All Saints Primary School in Fulham High Street. He later went on to attend ADT College, Wandsworth (now Ashcroft Technology Academy). Gleave has claimed in interviews that the main reason he started rapping was due to his introduction to Hip-Hop through albums by Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg – the latter's album purchased primarily for "the cool cover art". Aged 15, Example entered his first rap battle at a house party in Shepherds Bush and in his own words "completely destroyed a useless wanker and a fight broke out so [he] sprinted home" . In 1992, he won Royal Mail Poet of the Year, winning his school a new computer. In 2000, Example attended Royal Holloway University, London to study film directing. While at University, Example started garage MCing to make some money. It was during this period that he met Joseph Gardner AKA Rusher, the producer with whom he would later go on to work with. Example and Rusher made a concept album in the audio booth of the University film department which included the track that would go onto be Example's first white-label vinyl release, "A Pointless Song".
The song is a dance track meant for clubs, night clubs and other of the same variety, I’m not to sure what the song is about but then again I’m not sure it really has a meaning behind it, it simply contains a decent beat with clever put together vocals which makes the song.
I personally like the song because it has an upbeat style to it that makes you want to go out, and also the lyrics are catchy an draw your attention.
The thing i don’t like about the song however is that I think it’s too short and i think it would be better if they had made the song a little longer as this song is only around three minutes long.
My overall opinion of the song is good, i like the song and I don’t think i can find many things wrong with it, as previously mentioned i liked the lyrics and the beat, he’s a unique artists and i enjoy quite a few of his songs.
My rating on this song is a decent eight out of ten, i think there’s definitely things that could have been allot better.

Mass Effect 2

Mass effect was created by Bioware who have a long history of creating good decent games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and Dragon Age: Origins. But the game that most interested me was mass effect and mass effect 2.
The game takes place in the future following a human hero named Commander John Sheppard who leads a campaign to stop the powerful semi synthetic organic race referred to as the “Reapers” who aim to strip the galaxy of its resources and technology to complete a cycle which has repeated itself for millions of years.
In this game the goal is to gather elite skilled members from all over the galaxy to make a powerful team to fight against the Reapers as they attempt to annihilate all sentient life through out the galaxy, by putting together a team of the best of the best it is suggested that Sheppard has a higher chance of success.
In the first game you are up against a rouge specter who has been indoctrinated by a Reaper who has been nick named by Seren (the rouge specter) the name given to this Reaper is Sovereign, who is the vanguard of the reapers return, his job is to make sure the reapers can easily return to begin the cycle of animation the Reapers real name however is Nazara, named for reasons unknown. Fortunately Sovereign fails in his attempts to open the mass relays to the Reaper fleet. Killed by Sheppard and the Normandy. That’s a quick summery anyway.
In Mass effect 2 as previously stated he is to gather a strong team to aid him, however it isn’t a reaper he is fighting directly it is a race known as the collectors whose home world sits beyond the Omega 4 relay cut of from the rest of the galaxy. It isn’t known weather the collectors allied with the reapers through choice but they seemed to be acting on behalf of a reaper called Harbinger who is currently with the rest of the reaper fleet out in dark space on the outer rim of the Milky Way. The collectors reassemble bug like creatures with advanced technology, an individual collector can sometimes be controlled by harbinger himself when he attempts to foil Sheppard’s plans.
The game itself is a third person’s shooter with a great variety of weapons and powers in which you can abuse and combine to take care of your enemies quickly and effectively. Their is allot a levelling system so that you are able to make your character stronger, faster and more powerful with his attacks, you are also able to gain paragon and renegade points depending on the actions you choose and depending on how good or bad you are this will unlock more dialect and new options.
The game also has good sound quality giving a different sound for every different action, in combat and out of combat; the background soundtrack is also amazing giving the player a good sense of realism.
The controls to this game are easy to use and conveniently modified for easy movement with your hands however if you do so choose you can modify your controls to how you prefer.
The only thing i don’t like about the game is the fact that on some occasions the game might freeze which can be very frustrating especially once you get into it.

Id rate this game 10 out of 10 for its amazing graphics and game play, and imaginative storyline, definitely a must buy for x box 360 gamers everywhere.

After i had done putting together the tracks and the recordings i then played with the faders and effects again adiing ambient sounds like i did back on the cubase project, after i was happy with the sound i had created i sent it in for marking again with the screen grabs i had previously taken as i progressed through the project.
After we had doone the loops we then went out with recording devices to record a veriety of sounds in which we would also use to create our track as it was apart of the brief, after we had finished gathering our recordings we then loaded them onto the computer and into Soundbooth, using our loops, recordings and other parts of audio we now started to produce a working track, it didnt have to be good but as long as we demonstrated the techniques we were ok.
Next we were told hot to create a loop using sounbooth, we did this by taking apart of a track either from youtube or from an mp3 player and taking a segment from it, we then edited it by cutting away excess parts and looping it by going to the loop option on the right hand side of the screen, after doing this we were able to save it, and keep it for future reference where we would be using it for making a new track on this new software.
After the Cubase project was completed we then moved on to a peice of software called soundbooth, its similiar to cubase however i find its much easier to edit and make loops, there were some complications when i was trying to find certain options however i found that it was much easier to use once i had a little more experiance, i still prefere cubase at this point though.
After i played around with it a bit more i was finally happy with what i had created, i then performed a media mexdown by going to file and then export, after i had completed my mixdown i then handed in the peice of work to my tutor along with the required screen grabs that we had to do for each individual track.

after i had compleated this track i then began my main peice using aripped track from youtube, i then began edditing it by breaking up the song and rearanging it untill i liked what i was hearing, i then began adding an reverb ambient sound to change it up a little adding faders to make the loops connect better with each other.
After christmas i had contued to develope my track, i had time stretched the track and added a few more loops fitting them to the correct beat of the track, i had a few problem here and there but i found the easy to overcome as i grew to know the software much much better.
